I would take it to my local Game Warden and leave him a note to go get it. If it belonged to a poacher they won't have the b@lls to get it.

If its on your property, and your land is posted, then it looks like you just got yourself a new blind.

I'd keep the blind and even if I knew the poacher, I'd report him.

Aw, you could have had a little fun with the guy and left him something really nasty inside. I guess thats the natural prankster in me. Rigging it to fall apart once someone climbs inside would be a good one too.

Call the game warden again. He is paid to take your calls. Poachers and tresspassers need to be delt with.

Yes. I have a pond on my hunt club and, when I catch people tresspassing they have a choice I kept there gear or I call the warden.

I think you'd have every right to claim it. However, I may start off light; perhaps leave a sign on the blind warning the poacher of the issue, and he has X number of days to leave or will be reported to authorities. I only ponder this caution because depending on who you're dealing with, and if your home or parking is on the same property, you want to avoid undue retaliation. You're obviously already dealing with a sketchy character.

Do what I did a few years ago to squatter that just didn't take me seriously. Use his blind as a bathroom every chance you get. He'll get the message.

Ive never found a portable blind... found quite a few improvised blinds though....logs laid together around stumps blowdowns..etc. Ive reported it and have a good idea who the individuals are but all I can do is tear them down. But if they ever did leave something, portable, you best believe its going with me. I might leave a note...if they really want it back they can call me, but if your trespassing on my land...I dont have much sympathy.

heck yes, i'd take it for sure, free gear is always welcome, but poachers are not. Make every effort to find who it is so you can put a stop to it. Hang a sign that says: Trespassers will be shot, Survivors will be shot again!
