Q:
Has anyone else had problems with their Rapala DT crankbaits coming apart? My dad and I have had three or four now that the lip just came completely off the lure. When we reel them in, it is just a plastic lip on the end of our line. Kind of ticks a man off when you pay that much money for a lure and it falls apart the first time it is used!

Knew I stayed away from Rapala for a reason. I always stick with Strike King, Bomber or Salmo. Haven't failed me yet
if you will contact Rapala, they should replace them for you. Never had it happen to me but heard they have a good warranty department. Did you buy them at the same place at the same time? Could be some type of batch problem. Usually Rapala is a great bait, don't let this deter you until you contact them.... I'm pretty sure they will make it better than right for you.
We bought them at Walmart at the same time, so I was wondering if it was just a bad batch too. The people at Walmart let us exchange for another one because we had been there the day before and had a receipt so that was ok. They work awesome for us, especially in the bluegill color, we are just a little gunshy now with them. Thanks for the feedback
I have had northerns bust them up but never experienced the kind of failure you describe. Hopefully the new ones will hand together. The DT series catches a lot of fish for me.
Never caught a northern but have had bass bust them up after catching quite a few. These were fresh out of the box. Was probably made on a friday. The new ones we got replaced seemed to hold up well, I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and hoped it was just a one time experience. Thanks for the comments.
If you keep having problems with the Rapala which I never have I would say give Bandit Crankbaits a try I use them with success quite often
