The Revo series is one of the best if not the best in their price group. I have the SX (I believe) and couldn't be happier. I've had it for 2yrs now and have given it work out without a problem other than when the cottonwoods are blooming it's a real pain in the arse with a baitcaster, but thats it. Well worth the money!

The Abu line of reels has been around for way more than a half a century and the company has always stood behind their products extremely well. The Revo line of reels are low profile reels that have evolved to the point where the main gear has been lowered down below the centerline giving a good feel and balance to cranking. They have good maintenance free carbon drag clutches which are extremely smooth. They have good cast controls and are as easy to cast as any other baitcaster. The only problem I have had with the ones that I have worked on has been the worm and pall levelwind. I repair a lot of reels that get used in saltwater and have learned to switch out the steel palls for ceramic palls. The ceramic palls are not a cure-all but do hold up better under under the salt conditions. That is why I now favor the levelwind system used on the US Reels which does not use the old worm and pall levelwind at all. The new patented levelwind system on the US Reels is just a huge improvement over the old worm drive and pall system which has been used by most reel makers for the last 100 years.
