Q:
With ice out just around the corner, I was wondering what tactics I should use for large mouth bass. Any suggestions? Lures, depth and location are all great. I fish in Connecticut and New York lakes.

Fish shallow dark bottoms where the water warms the fastest. Carp will congregate in the warmest water so if you see them rolling I would fish there.
As buckhunter stated fish the warmest water you can find. As for baits I would start out with slow moving baits like the jig with a plastic trailer, tube jigs on a jig head, suspending jerk baits.
