My friends and I like to just put a jig head on em. We normally use 1/4 oz. it seems to work alright.

Yeah, I just use a jig head as well and toss that thing into the areas I think should be holding some fish. Jig head size depends on where I'm fishing (river, lake) and how fast I want it to sink. Play around with some different sizes to get some good results. Don't forget to take those things off your hook and throw out or back in the bag otherwise you'll be throwing out your jig head.

Get one of those hooks that have the lead attached to the side of the hook and give it plenty of action!
