Rebel Poppers,a black ant, flies, poppers,Road Runners, plastic frogs,a mouse, artificial worms,Jitterbugs ... anything that resembles a bug, frog, insect or small animal struggling on the surface of the water.
Wait until you feel the fish tug at your lure before you set the hook!
For bass try running a seinko yo-yo style. Cast the lure over a branch and grab the line and pull it in then let it drop out again. do this repeatedly and you can catch fish pretty consistently
I always work plastic worms around trees. A senko wacky style is killer. I have never really done wat bassfisha13 said but it sounds like it would work great.
i use a small cricket popper. or use a fire worm, its a purple worm with a brit pink tail. but do not use a weight. let it sink naturally. reel with a slight pull and the occasional jerk about 3 seconds apart.
go with a buzzbait in yellow or white(I prefer yellow) with a copper prop. Bass tear them to pieces. Also try rubber frogs, heddon torpedos, hula poppers and rebel pop-rs. Also try throwing a medium sized beetle spin or other type of spinners. good luck!

For bass, nothing beats running a buzz bait over the top of the trunk and branches of the tree.
For crappie, dunking a minnow wherever you can find an open spot is the best medicine.
Poppers, and Buzz Baits always work for me.
a hook and worm is all you need for gills, crappies, and perch.

buzz bait -mostly snag proof, texas rigged worm also almost snag proof.
I'd have to go with a texas rigged worm.
try reeling a crankbait past it
make sure the belly color matches that of the bait fish that reside in that pond
