well my favorite bait to fish for them is a rapala original floater as you can catch anything on them and they are very fun to fish which is a good thing, otherwise a gary yamamato senko is my 2nd favorite texas rigged
I like an eight inch curly tail plastic worm in pumpkin, black or purple. You can fish them shallow or deep, slow or fast, and they can be rigged weedless.
Jitterbug at night. Wacky worms of various shapes and sizes are all day killers. I also like to use an unweighted senko style worm and make it dance and dive in open water, or drag it across and into the weeds. Sometimes I do the open water thing, but on a light jighead. Rubber frogs across pads and dropped into holes are deadly as well.
Thank you Shane, I still catch my fair share of fish on those old favorites and usually am catching fish when others are not. I have also been using the Uncle Josh pork worms instead of the soft plastic worms for my worm fishing (texas rig) and have been able to reuse them over and over even after catching fish on one all day. Just one jar may last me over a year.
I love catching them on Hula poppers. The explosion on the surface is thrilling. This isn't my most productive lure for bass but certainly my favorite.
A basic black tube. No frills or flash but I have caught more fish on this lure than any other. I just tie on a hook and run it through the tube and bury the hook tip just slightly in the opposite side and cast away.

Top water baits if they are working. Otherwise, what they are liking that day.
Jitterbug usually works.
A vintage Heddon vamp spook for this time of the year, or a Snagless Sally with a piece of Uncle Kosh pork frof on the back.

I like a Berkely Powerworm Texas-Rigged
I have to go with the good old-timey flatfish, in a variety of colors, some home-painted in colors not available off the shelf.
6 inch shinner. A spinner or buzz bait.
