Most of the waters I fish are shallow, average depth around 4-6 feet, so I rely heavily on the Baby Minus 1 or even the Baby Minus 4 in a shad color. Try 'em, you will like 'em.
I'm a huge fan of Bomber crankbaits. I really like the red crawdad color. I also like the Norman cranks in blue/chrome. I like to fish the dd14 or dd22 in shallow water so it bounces off of everything.
The Bagley original balsa lures. The ultralight Honey B can produce strikes from really big bass when nothing else works. Back way off the drag when using one with light line, because you never know what's going to hit it.

a shad type crankbait, something that looks like a minnow
I love using rattle traps in about 15-20.
I am a big fan of storms soft bodied cranks and strike kings crank baits. I prefer a silver or gold pattern.

I'd have to say a rattle trap. They work pretty much year-round.
