i have a small pond where i live loaded with catfish carp and bass what is the bait that gives you the best chance of catching all 3(and they steal my damn bread so dont say that)
Catfish prefer a more carnivorous meal, and their preferences vary based on their size. Also catfish, along with other fish, can prefer different foods at varying times.
Dip baits can either be home-made or bought in a store. They are basically smelly goo. They have a protein base, often consisting of some sort of cheese. Dips should break up in the water yet not wash away immediately. They are most effective in a current.
Doughballs are commonly used as bait for carp. These are generally made from combining bread with water. They also oftentimes have some type of flavoring. Flavors can include vanilla and peanut butter.
Another common type of carp bait is a can of sweet or creamed corn. In order to fish with a can, it must be attached to a strong hook. Holes are also punched into the can to allow the corn to escape.
Plastic worms are very common and successful in catching bass. These worms come in a variety of sizes and colors, all of which are effective at catching bass.A 'jig and pig' is extremely successful in catching larger bass. This bait is generally sunk to the bottom of a water body, where it looks like a crawfish. It is very appealing to bass..
I hope this help you a little bit!!!
sorry don't know what happen but it posted in the middle of me typing. Catfish and bass don't go for corn as much as the carp but I have had some nights that I was out night fishing and the bass and catfish were pounding the corn. Good luck
That is very interesting Rudy, I have used sweet corn many times to catch carp and with great success, but I have never used an can of corn. I have two questions...One, how the hell do you rig a can onto a hook? And two, how big are the carp you are catching?... they must be giants.
Worms, that is probably the only thing that will catch bass and the others. Though carp are pretty different from catfish too...
You might be best served to put a rod with some corn or a worm or something out for the catfish and carp and then fish withing sight of it for bass with a spinnerbait or Gulp! soft bait. The catfish will hit the spinnerbait if it is close to the bottom and the Gulp! will probably catch anything but the carp. Carp are wicked finicky about artificials, about all I can catch them on is nymph flies.
