Q:
Two quick research questions for everyone here who has an iPhone/smartphone/cellphone with a camera. 1.) Do you ever use your phone to take pictures of fish you've caught? 2.) If so, we'd love to hear a rough estimate of how many such photos you take with your phones each year. Thanks! --The Editors.

Generally everytime I go fishin'!
I just got a new phone so NO pictures are on there yet.
1.) YES
2.) Roughly take 200 pictures or more, then I upload them to my computer, and save the best/biggest/prettiest fish to my cell phone to show to friends and acquaintances.

1) Yes take pictures
2) Just a handful, normally take pics on days I am playing hookey from work and buddies are not, like to text them a pic to rub it in that I am fishing/hunting and caught/harvested something.

I'm like Del, I always take my camera. However, I recently got a phone with a camera almost better than my actual camera, so I'm likely to be using it quite a bit for those unique moments.

I mostly use my cell phone for pictures. The only problem is it is not a newer phone so I cant download the pics. I usually delete them after showing friends and family. I take anywhere from 75-150 pictures (F&S related) a year depending on how things are going for me

1) I sure do. Fish and Game
2) I would say only around 10-15 a year because it is what I use when I forget my camera which isn't too often.

I have a friend who uses his phone for nearly every picture when we're out hunting or fishing.. I'd say he's in the 200-300 a year range.

I take pictures with my iPhone on every hunt. Have not taken it fishing yet.

Probably 100 per year, of which I'll keep 20-ish.

Zero. Resolution is low so I don't bother. With slippery hands the camera phone would also end up drowning. But ... some of the newer ones are getting better. Now if they will only make them waterproof.

Yes, I do take photos with my phone. I send them out to my buddies and let them know what they're missing.
If we are only talking fish, I would say that my tally would run around 40 fish photos/year.

I have pictures on my phone of maybe a half dozen fish...I normally too excited to remember to take pictures so when I do it is normally of a ridiculously small fish so I can send back to my buddy at a later date to mock the size of his fish. All in good fun of course they dish right back at me.

My phone does not have a camera function. Phones don't even get service in most of the places I hunt. I have an Olympus digital with 10X zoom, and a Minolta 35mm with built in zoom. I find that cameras generally take better pictures than the ones I see on phones, and now that every one hour photo can turn 35 mm into digital, I use the 35 mm a lot more, because it gives me photos in places I don't have a computer. The 35 mm resides in my hunting box. The Bookkeeper recently confiscated the digital, so I am looking for a compact, zoom capable, rough service replacement. Probably another Olympus. I take more hunting than fishing pix, due to the risks of having a camera on a boat, but will probably be sticking the 35 mm in the tackle box more. Number of pix a year is probably 75 -100.
