Q:
Went fishing today. I caught all of my fish, bass, with a jitterbug. Any thoughts? Is topwater just hot now?

Summer is the best time for top-water action. At night during the "dog-days" is the best.
Good luck,Good fishing and good job on the bass.

I am a big fan of jitterbugs and topwater baits in general. Summer time is killer for topwater baits.

I am hitting the water this weekend and topwater baits will be the first lure to hit the water.

Jitterbug at night is one of the most effective, and definitely the most exciting method there is in fishing.

I am envious of you, where I am at currently, were not experiencing a top water bite. It is by far the most entertaining way of catching bass. The explosion on the water makes it so much fun.

Yes, Jitterbugs, Zara Spooks and Bang-0-lures are my favorite early morning and late evening baits in late spring early summer.

I like the "Devil-horse" bait too. The double spinners seem to really "stir em' up".
Caught my biggest bass on one. 7 1/2 lbs.

Jitterbugs are great for fishing at night in the middle of summer, and in much shallower water than you would think.
