what are some good trout fly patterns? Mostly brook and brown trout.

prince, copper john, caddis, imitators, wooly buggers, honestly depends on the time of year and what is going on @ the water. I've had good luck with a simple dry fly that i twitch on the water.

Nymphs & Midges:
Copper John, Hares Ear, Prince, Pheasant Tail, Birds Nest, Rainbow Warrior, Brassie
Terrestrials:
Foam Hopper, Ant, Ostrich Scud, Stimulator, Crayfish, Kaufmann Stonefly
Streamers:
Zoo Cougar, Zonker, Wooley Bugger, Muddler Minnow, Clouser
Dries:
Hendrickson, Adams, BWO, Trico, PMD, Elk Hair Caddis, Parachute patterns

Brookies and browns can be pretty aggressive fish. I like wet flies and streamers the most, unless there is a hatch coming or going on. Also, fish low light levels during the day for best hook ups.

I agree with badsmerf. I like fishing for them with bigger flies like wet flies and streamers, though I've been having much luck with soft hackles over the last few months. Nothing can resist the power of the swing!

Yep also a streamer guy here and one that you definitely should check out is an olive bead head crystal bugger! just put it out there and give it 3 to 5 in strips constantly and you can bring them in all day!!
