Q:
This summer I'll be hiking in the Canadian Rockies and will bring a fly rod along incase the opportunity to fly fish arises, most likely in the Bow River drainage. Any recommendations for favorite flies for these waters? I prefer to fish dry flies if conditions permit.

Elk hair cadiss and yellow bellied humpy are two of my favorites in that country. Take along a couple of nymphs (black prince and hare's ear) for the heck of it. If they're not biting at surface bugs at least you have a plan B.
Parachute adams and royal coachman are also good old standby, especially for turbulent water. More visible.
River, or lakes, what month in the Summer?
