Check the regulations. If its anything like my state PA may have different regulations for different waters. May be fly fish only, artificial only, etc. I'm sure they have any angler's guide or the like that you can get.
I fish a couple streams like that in PA, only in season of course. I always throw the natives back, they are fun to fish for though, and hard to catch.
