Q:
I broke a rod tip off my orvis streamline 5wt rod, I took it to get fixed and was offered an upgrade to the Access rod for $150, anyone have experience with the Access rods? I'm thinking of getting a 8ft 4wt to use as a small stream rod.

No experience with the rod, but being it is Orvis, and an upgrade, it would be a very good rod. What you need to consider is the use it will get for the task you described, small streams. I would not want a fast action rod. A medium action graphite would be much preferred. That is the key...find out the action of their ACCESS RODS.
