Jay is right. Make sure your drag is set correctly and you should have no problems. I have been using 17 lb test for a couple of seasons now and have not had a problem at all as long as the drag is set right.

It should be fine. most superlines have a mono equivilent size on the box.

Don't know which braid you used but 20 lb spyderwire is same diameter as 6 lb mono
I was using spider wire and it does fit on the reel. I wondered if the high pound test would brake the reel.
It shouldn't. You can always set the drag so that there is limited pressure on the spool.
