Q:
Yesterday, I caught a big catfish and some brim in our pond. I had a blast! It reminded me of how much I enjoy to fish. It seems like I almost forget how much fun it is to catch big fish and just fishing in general over the hunting season. Does this happen to anyone other than me?

Not really---all winter I'm waiting for the Gulf waters to warm up enough for the king mackerel to come back and make the drag on my reel scream while I'm fishing from the Gulf Shores Pier. Bream on the bed with a fly rod are in the upper part of the top ten, too. The turkeys aren't gobbling worth a flip yet, so I'd just as well go fishing.

If I'm not hunting I am thinking about hunting and fishing often takes a back seat. Not since I was a kid did fishing rank up there with hunting. But these days when I do get the opportunity to wet a line, I remember exactly how much fun it is and regret that I don't go more.
