Best way to prepare ling (burbot)?

Think of it as the poor mans lobster. Broil it and eat it with lemon, drawn butter, what ever you dip lobster in.

we used to sell Ling at the market and most chunked them up and either boiled them as Sourdough states or rolled them in a batter and deep fried them as Brian states. I've tried them in a fish chowder and they are a good fish for chowder. Sheephead are the best though.

If you go the rout of boiling it I've heard leaving the nuggets sit overnight in sprite or 7up helps take a bit of the off taste out. Sorta like a big cat in buttermilk.
