I thought i'd be going today but it is snowing and i don't know. I really want to try some flyfishing. I've got to get my pole out from last summer. I might be trying some grasshoppers or a black fly.
Its going to be in the mid 70's this weekend in VA. The ponds just thawed out 2 weeks ago, excited to launch the boat and try for some pike heading into the coves to spawn along with some walleye and bass. I will be happy with anything that bites, just nice to finally get out of the house after this winter.
If I can shake off this case of distemper or kennel cough or whatever that I've picked up, and if it's not raining, I hope to be knee deep in a trout stream Sunday after church, prospecting for rainbows.
I may go tomorrow. I caught a two pound bass yesterday in our WMA. Nothing big, but still a decent fish. I used a crawdad colored jig with a trailer, that seems to be an effective color as of right now. IN WV at least.
Crappie are picking up here. Lots of rain, waters up and muddddddddddddy! I'll be chasing old Tom in the morning!
I love to go out for fishing tomorrow but I have to work double shift on my job!!!
i just went crappie fishing today. 3 12 inchers.
went crappie fishing today...ended up catching a 2.5 pound smallie and about a 26 inch pike trolling a mooselook. Nohting too to big but a good way to kick off open water 2010!
