Q:
Does anyone live near Lake Keowee or Lake Hardwell? I recently there and the guys caught 38 stripers in 5 hours. A few were near 8 pounds. I am thinking of moving there.

There are tons of strippers here, but Keowee and Hartwell are not the best. Look at my pics those two stripper were caught on Murrey. I live in Spartanburg which is in the center of Keowee, Hartwell, Murrey, and Greenwood. I have lived here my whole life and the guys that caught 38 strippers had the trip of a life time. It doesn't happen often. Murrey is the best and Hartwell is a close second. On the fact you are moving here, you'll love it here.

I live in the Fort Mill area, about 20 minutes from Charlotte, NC. There are lots of good fishing lakes in this area and to the south. I like to hit Lake Wylie during the week, Lake Wateree, Murray, and Santee Cooper all provide great fishing for multiple species. Lake Wylie is a little too crowded with rec boaters on the weekends. You can't go wrong in the Carolinas. We have a long warm season, mild winters but still winter. You can be at the beach, mountains or lakes in less than three hours from my house. Where do you live now? SC Game and Fish just posted some good fishing info on their website (scgameandfish.com).

Right now I live in Jacksonville, NC. Stationed on Camp Lejeune, I went to Keowee Key for a "Honoring Their Service" retreat for wounded Marines. We had a whole mess of things to do but I didn't get around to fishing. I just loved the area so much, reminded me alot of upstate NY where I grew up. Thanks you the tips maybe I will head out that way some weekend.
