is there a way to make a treble hook weedless or snag proof?

if there was the maker would be very rich... i've seen an attempt at it and it had a blocker coming down from the hook to the point and fish would have to bite the medal prong down to get hooked so im not sure how effective it is. There are many different shapes of hooks that claim to be snag less.

cover it with a big piece of cut bait and set the hook hard.

I've seen heavy mono (15-25 lb)added to each hook, then wrapped into place and superglued. The loop of mono acts as a deflector for snags and grasses. Another way is to use light wire intead of the mono. They work but are troublesome to make and exxpensive to buy.

Cgull---I've seen and used those like you describe and had a hard time hooking fish with them.

As fliphuntr said above, I would think it coulb be possible if you used 3 brushguards off of bass jigs. Then it would be nearly weedless, and also not worth the hassle.
