sgolf, it's dark now on the east coast. Saw no antlers but plenty of skin heads.
Enjoy those good eaten salmon filets. Wish I was there sharing the action.
I've been hitting the striper (rockfish) pretty hard down here in VA. The James River is full of them, the hard part is finding them.
Ive got some buddies that have been hammering the salmon in the Grand by the dam in Rockford.
zombie kings running here on the wisconsin side, been looking for a coho bite got one jack last week and one small brown. I think all this rain should help will be out tomorrow afternoon to find out. keep the lines tight
flip, been raining like crazy right across the lake in Grand Rapids. should definitely push the remainder of the fish up into the rivers.
pudge- salmon fishing is definitely hot right now. in a short time from now i assume the steelhead will be coming up in force to feast on the salmon eggs.
scratch... where are you fishing? I hammered Lake Michigan for 17 years while I lived there and still miss it. I used to hit Two Rivers and Manitowac Wisc this time of year. Also, around Burnham Harbor in Chicago (although I fished wherever I could all the time). I caught tons of big kings but I loved hammering the frisky Cohos and Rainbows cruising the spawning beds for roe. I fished Mepps Aglias with a streamer fly tied ahead of them... a Norwegian secret passed from generation to generation (so please don't tell anybody).
dakota im fishing the grand river in downtown grand rapids, MI...my university is about 20 minutes from the river. since i cant hunt out here this is the next best thing.
What areas do you hunt scratch?
dakota man i was in mishcot last week kings are stacked up tight on shoto. Im headed to algoma and the anna p this week, had to work all weekend so still looking for a steelie or coho bite.
pudge, most all my hunting is done on the east side of the state in oakland county...every once in awhile i head up to alma to hunt deer, which is isabella county??? (right near central mich university in mount pleasant).
