For land locked atlantic salmon we troll a williams warbler spoon with the hooks removed and tie on a 20 inch leader to the split ring.at the leaders end use a 4" berkley gulp smelt minnow.

Have had good luck trolling with:
-April to August - 000 orange dodger with a sparkle fly or green squid
-June to October - Northport Nailer spoons in Gold/black, silver/green
-July to October - J-Plugs in chrome, lime green or kacki.
A silver or gold rattle spoon is also very good. If you are going to cast from shore, consider a blue/silver Little Cleo or a Krockadile
For all of these, glow paint that you light up with a camera flash attachment is best early in the AM and at sunset and at depths over 70 feet.
