Lindy's Fuzzy grub tipped with a mino. usually purple fished vertical very slowly bounced off the bottom while drfiting across reefs,weedbeds or sandbar humps. I'm spoiled though, only living 12 miles from Lake Erie. Used the same up off Sagnaw Bay and Tawa's Point so it does work in cold water temps

I second the jig and minnow. I do believe it will catch walleyes everywhere.

I am also pretty lucky living close to many great tributaries to Lake Michigan the spawning is coming to an end here. Most of my walleye fishing is casting with jig heads bouncing the jig off the bottom with a number of different plastics and leaches. Its a pretty simple but effective lure just about the whole year. Also allows you to test many different colors cheaply.
