I used to catch a lot of them fishing below the Coffeville Dam on the Tombigbee River and using creek crawfish for bait. Never tried eating them---had friends that wanted them. Biggest I caught was 13 pounds. Lots of fun.
We catch them all the time in Lake Erie. 3 to 5 lb on average. A lot of people do not like them but there is a good recipe for them. I cook some up around the Holidays and the platter goes around once and it is empty.
