Many moons ago, while fishin' with my younger brother out of a John Boat, he kept spraying "something" on his lure. He was catching 'bout 4-bass to everyone of mine.
Reluctantly, he showed me a bottle of Vanilla Extract and allowed me to follow suit, and spray it on my lure.
I used to fish heavily for salmon on Lake Michigan. I learned to soak lures in a bucket of cut baitfish. It definitely increased the catch by a factor of 3 and on some days was the diferentiator. I was out on a tough day where 2000+ tournament boats couldn't hook one and I caught six... two of which would have won the contest and one would have set new state record if I would have taken the time to register it. The scent was the reason for the catch.

It worked and now I'm a believer!
Thanks 2Poppa, now I'll have to find room in my bass tacklebox for some vanilla extract.

Thanks for the info. guys! Maybe I'll give it a try.
