Q:
I am catching crappies, pickerel and bass. Maxiumum weight is around 4 lbs. I have a 6 foot medium rod. Any recommendations on a BAITCASTING REEL for this kind of fishing? I mostly use soft plastics and light jigs & the occasional crankbait.

I personally like the levelwind on the US Reel SuperCasters. Two of the three legends of bass fishing, Roland Martin and Jimmy Houston swear by them. I can cast further and with lighter lures using the angle bar levelwind over the old worm and pall levelwinds which is in all other brands of reels. But if I do use a worm and pall levelwind reel, I prefer the New Lew's series of baitcasters by Lynn Reeves.
