Get a Mercury or Evinrude. Get a newer one that is fuel injected and you'll be served well for years. Stay away from foreign produced gear if at all possible.

I had a Mercury 9.9 for years that was a great little motor.

I really don't know. When my '72 18 horse evinrude dies, I'll look into to.
