The best place for walleye in all of Wisconsin is the Wisconsin river. You can also try in lake winnebago.

I thought that the "Lake of the Woods" and Rainey Lake were hot spots in MN.

I have heard that Lake Minnetonka and Mille Lacs are supposed to be great Walleye spots in Minnestota, of course I have never fished the two of them.

I went on a guide trip to Lake of the Woods and had a blast. I had 50 walleye days and was never bored or was not catching anything. Mille Lacs too also has great walleye fishing and some real lunkers come out of there.
