Great video. I have never seen sea lions take a fish at the boat but a few years ago I saw a 650lb mako shark take a 200+ tarpon that the fishermen had gaffed and were pulling into the boat. The tarpon did a tail walk and just about landed in my boat before he broke loose from the shark. The boaters got him up and gaffed him again and the shark hit a second time but they smacked him in the head with a boat paddle and he left. I wish I would have had the video running as it was a classic.

It's more common than you'd think. I've seen a guy fighting a fish, then all of a sudden a couple big jerks and the line goes dead. He reeled in a salmon head. Freakin' sea lions...

I fish for salmon every year here in washinton st. Me or my father have a seal take a fish every year!!! Its pretty comman, and i hate it lol
