Q:
Announcement for those that may not have heard, Yesterday, Alabama opened all of the rest of the previously closed state waters for fishing and keeping the fish. Some of these waters had been open for catch and release, but the fish have now been definately determined safe to keep in those areas. Some of the closed waters had opened several weeks ago, BUT NOW ALL WATERS ARE OPEN. Early reports from the state pier was that with the long period of no fishing, the fish caught yesterday were averaging larger sizes and were caught in larger numbers.

Finally! santa, I just heard on the news there is a layer of oil on the bottom of selected areas within the Gulf spill areas. The dispersant used by BP has forced, or weighted down the oil which may be over eight (8) feet deep and deeper in holes.

Good buddy, what do you know about this?

We all know that the oil was broken down so that IT WOULD SINK!!! If it sinks, it has to go to the bottom. A lot of marine life starts and depends on the bottom, so this part of the spill's real effects may not be evident for quite some time. I said this in the beginnig out of sight is out of mind. When the oil stopped "floating" up on shore, it suddenly did not bring much interest for the media.

I don't think I'd be eating anything out of there quite yet... Out of sight out of mind is fine for BP and the media, but all that means is it's getting into the stuff that's under the water. I hate saying that because I know how much the people of the Gulf are hurting, but no thanks.
