Mine was ice fishing as a kid. We'd been skunked all day and were packing up. I had just pulled my line out of the ice when I saw a big trout swim right below the hole.

I dropped my line back in, maybe about a foot down. I saw the trout take the bait and yanked it out of the hole and onto the ice. The hook didn't even set, just flipped the fish out of the hole.

My most memorable were two. A striped bass off the jetty at Gosman's Dock Long Island. The second was a Pike at Rogers Rock Lake George N.Y. Both half bigger than me.

Mine was a three-quarter pound bass caught on a cane pole out of the Bon Secour River when I was five. I was messing around on the river bank by myself, wondering why I couldn't catch the mullet I kept seeing swim by (brackish water) when the bass bit the dead shrimp I was using for bait. He pulled hard and I pulled harder and he went flying back over my head back up onto the sandy bank. I grabbed him and took him around to everybody I could find to show him off. Fun memories. My dad was proud of me catching the bass by myself.

As a five year old I separated a rib from my sternum falling off a horse and also caught Whooping Cough, now that was memorable.

Mine would have to be when I was ten, when I caught a wahoo about 50lb, not the hardest fighting fish I have ever caught, but definitely the funnest, and largest (though not by far) fish I have ever caught.

I was 15 years old and her name was Donna. Cannot recall her last name. Let's just say she had a record book rack.

When I was nine years old, I caught a yellow perch with a single hook on a string using a worm for bait in New Hampshire. I was so proud of myself.
