Sayfu what Blue fox spinners do you use? I love the rooster tails they make for bass. But their vibrax spinners for trout I have tried and never seemed to have any luck. Also they didn't want to spin for me. Although I did use them for sunnys and pan fish and they worked well for them.
When I was growing up we used Panther Martins, Rooster Tails and Kastmasters for rainbow trout. We always did well. I have never used Mepps but from what others here are saying they must work. Good luck.
I go back and forth between Mepps, Rooster Tails, Panther Martins, and Joe's Flies. Just depends on how the trout are feeling that day, what the water looks like, etc.

I used to swear by Mepps, but now I fish Panther Martin too. A mix of both works for me.
I have caught more trout on Mepps, I have also had good luck with Rooster Tails.
I like them both but I catch myself using Panthers for browns and Mepps for bows and brookies. Seems to work.
I've always used Mepps spinners, but judging by the comments here, I will try a couple Panther martins.
Blue Fox...hard to beat. Spinner hits the water, blade starts turning...no need to jerk the spinner to get the blade to start rotating.

Never really used Mepps, but panther martin work great as well as blue fox... for when your fishing a stream with proper water conditions
