does anyone remeber the trout set up eggs and bacon? well i was thinking what if you added a treble hook 9 inches down and put some floating trout bait on for added buoyancy and ATRACTION
I know the fly well, but I think we may have two different things in mind. Where are you fishing? The eggs and bacon I have used was effective in streams that salmon spawn in. Those trout are used to eating eggs and decayed salmon, rather than hatchery food. I suppose it could work as an attractant, though. What's the harm? I would shy away from the treble hook, though, unless you plan on keeping your catch for the grill.
