Q:
I am interested in trying fly fishing. Trout fishing is one of my favorite things and it seems like it could be even more fun with a fly rod. I do not know much about what to get. What would be a good beginners setup and what flies are good for trout?

Cabelas Genesis. The whole kit cost about $150 and comes with everything you need, including flies.

I am also starting on fly fishing. I found a Martin kit for 37 bucks. 8 foot 5 weight i believe. The rod is very nice, but the reel isnt much. even if you buy a seperate reel you can save quite a bit of money

go with a 5 weight, and a pachage deal will be more than enough to get your started....however, see if any friends or coworkers have one you can borrow first. I would hate to see you buy one to find out it isn't your thing (although I highly doubt it). The great thing about outdoors people is that they are almost always willing to share their gear.

woolly buggers in olive, brown, or black are a great go to fly in most conditions and most anywhere
