Red worms or canned corn on a hook if they are hatchery raised. A very small Rapala or Panther Martin also work pretty well. If they have been in there long enough to know what flies are, a bead head fly can also snag a few stocked trout.
What I like to do is get a hypodermic needle and some baby nightcrawlers, and blow some air into the worms so they float up off of the bottom. I usually limit out when others aren't catching anything when I do that.
I always have good luck with black rooster tails with silver spinners, green and other earth tones work well. Black with yellow dots and gold spinner panther martins. A casting bubble and fly works well also, black ant flys almost always work.....
grantystyle has is right, sometimes the stocked ponds get pounded with worms and power bait and an attempt with a wooly bugger (I put a split shot about 12-18in up the line to get it down) is just the right answer. But, if the pond was just stocked just about anything listed above will work.
My number one choice is a Rapala CD-7 Countdown Minnow in gold/black. Follow that up with an inline spinner like a Mepps/Blue Fox and you'll be all set.
When it comes to rainbows and you are spin fishing then you HAVE to try small spinners like rooster tails and mepps, those fish will wreck 'em. If you are a fly fisher, then wooly buggers and leech inmitations are the way to go. Good luck friend.
well marshmellows are good fakebaits works for me livebats i advise mealworms with a gang hook[size10] or minnos work just as well and crafish works better um to u. andd good luck!
I fish a lake that stocks trout 7 times a year..and everyone down there catches them with a minnow under a slip bobber find out what depth the fish are at that day from someone on a boat and you should be in business
