Top water lures for trout? Fall fishing season in New Jersey and I've had some luck with the small hula popper...are their any others you all might suggest? thanks!
If you're not speaking about a fly rod then i would have to also agree with the top water rapalas. I've even heard in the summer months people have luck with actual poppers, but i never tried that out.
I have also had trout strike on top water. I have found that trout can be a surprising fish, in the fact that they don't always go after what you think they would. Hulla Poppers are great. I have even had Blue Gill snap at the ones I use while bass fishing. Good luck and tight lines.

I've had good luck with the old-time flatfish lures in the smaller sizes, like F2 through F5.
Small Rapala top waters have worked well for me. Color pattern shouldn't really matter but I've caught a lot on a trout pattern.
Grasshoppers are primo.
Hey all you need is a white or pink trout magnet. your welcome

thanks everybody! that trout magnet is great, and so's the rapala!
