approximatley how lond do brook trout grow a year? for food they have is shiners (little babies up to 6 inches) do they eat tad poles? theres tons in there,lotsa flies(i see them jump alot) and catfish if they eat catfish. and the brook trout so far are 4-7 inches some we put in last year and i got a 9 inch this year. aand i would like to know because one lived up to like 2 feet(found dead) when my dad put some in but that was a while ago and how long will they live? another fact is me and my friend were fishing with worms he got a bite form a "brook trout" and he sayed it was 15 inches ( and my dad stocked that big trout around 7? years ago) will they grow that big that fast (trust me he exaggerates a little by saying theres a grey squirell outside his house with a tail thats 12 inches long) sorry about the long question im bored and its late

Not sure for trout. But surgens from what I been told by numerous of people is 1 inch per year. So a 50 inch is 50 years old. Trout I would have to say they grow pretty fast. Not for sure but thats my 10 cents thought. I have been know to be wrong from time to time. LOL

well, brook trout grow at varying speeds in differrent climates, water types, and temperature. in maine, a 3 year trout can be 6 inches or 16 inches. It is highly variable though
