This is a tough question to answer. Its like asking whats the best American beer. There obviously isn't a good american beer just like there isn't really a good spincasting reel made these days. If I were you I would go with a spinning or baitcasting reel, and you can never go wrong with Diawa, Shimano, or Abu Garcia. However if you have to use a "closed face" reel, find an old Zebco 33, the metal kind with a bait clicker.

Like Big O said...Zebco is the most reliable "closed faced" reel out there...oh and Keystone Ice takes the best American beer category!
i agree that zebco is probably the best spincast reel out there,lone star is the beer.
I really liked the Zebco 33 until they started making them out of plastic. The plastic will not allow the face of the real to stay inplace. You can't even buy Coffee in a metal can anymore.

LOL, I don't drink anymore, when I did, it wus Budweiser. Thats been 12 or 13 years ago. Don't know much about beer now, other than, nothing is made in America anymore.

Anywho-Both Johnson and Zebco make decent ones for the price.
