Q:
I have a Sportsman 400 Polaris four wheeler, but every time I turn something in the back rattles around and makes a nasty sound. Any reasons why?

Bearings?

Better take it into the shop before someone hauls you out of the woods after a long cold night out!

That is the four wheeler fairy telling you to get a Honda.

I'm guessing it's an articulating CV axel. See if one of them has a ripped boot cover. Doesn't take long for the CV joint to wear out if water and dirt gets inside the boot.

It could be as simple as a busted chain tightener. Thats what happened to one of mine.

Bad CV joints typically start out making noise when turning. Chain tightener would be more likely to make noise all the time.

I have to agree with OH on this one sounds like a CV joint. Get yourself a Yamaha or maybe a Suzuki and if you feel like paying more for a name a Honda (sorry WAM haha)

In our case, if I empty out the beer cans the rattle stops.
