I knew some guys who would use one every year when they came to the camp I worked for. They seemed to really like it, especially with a fitted air mattress. I've always thought they were a good idea, but must confess to no personal experience...

I bought a truck tent years ago and liked it very much. I like the idea of the safety of being off the ground unlike a typical tent. I have an air mattress the fits the bed of my truck and it is very comfortable. It is easy to put together and take down...only about 15 minutes once you get the hang of it. Stores away in a tub or sack and I highly recommend one. Good luck and I agree don't get one if your in bear country!!
