Whats some good gear for a 12 year-old who likes to fish, hike, & shoot? Where can you find it? IT HAS TO BE A REASONABLE PRICE!

Start hanging around Del in KS
ebay has lots of fishing gear, just no shooting equipement though.
i am 14 and i bought a hiking backpack at rei for the gun i went to walmart and started with a 20 ga. single shot for fishing it doesn't matter really just get him the stuff you use.
if you want to find good gear that will last but isnt very expensive i would try somewhere like dick's sporting goods. if hes new to this stuff i wouldn't go to expensive on the gear you buy.
If you are looking for clothing and/or fishing equipment, a good place to start would be Cabela's bargin cave. A good time to buy shooting gear will be in about 3.5 - 4.5 months from now when hunting seasons are starting to wind down and retail companies are looking to make room for spring fishing equipment. A good rule of thumb is to buy your fishing gear during hunting season and your hunting gear during fishing season; this is when you are more prone to find better deals.
For shooting, how about a Ruger 10/22? Good semi-auto .22 LR that will last him forever, about $200.
THE best place to get a great deal is on CRAIGSLIST! If you're lucky enough to live in a large city, this is by far the best place for DEALS! I saved thousands on my Nitro bass boat. I bought my trolling motor and sonar there as well as one of my rod/reel.
Military surplus is usually a good place to start. Boots, BDU's, Sleeping bags (systems).
As far as shooting: 22, 270, 243, 20 ga .410, or a youth bow
Good knives: Camillus, Ka Bar, Old Case folders and Stag handles, the bigger buck knive,Don't buy the new case, buck, gerber knives unless you look at the package some of of them (more and more) are being made in china and are substandard.

The list is way too long to suggest, but the places to look are of course, the internet, Cheaperthandirt.com, Sportsmansparadise.com, cabelas, etc. Just do a google search for whatever it is you're looking for.
babsfish4life nailed it on the head for the rod, uglystiks are are tough to break and dont cost a fortune. also check bassproshops.com in the clearance section, i have bought lots of good gear off of there
