I use an old Bear Whitetail with AMS rig. That AMS rig has worked great every time. I love it. No glovs sound like a good idea to me but I use a glove... they should fit on a compound bow as long as your string has a clear path to slide them down to the nocking point.
I use solid fiberglass arrows, such as Muzzys, that are required by law in my state. I use a section cut out of a five gallon bucket and clamped to the bow as a reel. I tie a jug to one end of builder's string and the other to the arrow. I let the jug do the fighting for me on large fish such as aligator gar and when the fish gets worn down, I retrieve the jug fish and all.
I use a 45# recurve with a muzzy setup for fishing. The no gloves is a bad idea. They get wet and they slip from being slimy. Stick to bare fingers, release or a blackwidow rubber tab when shooting in water.
