Leaupold Gold Ring 12-60x60 for around $1000 is a great scope for the price...most cheaper scopes I've seen are about worthless in the field.

I have a friend with a Swarovski spotting scope. It's the nicest scope I've put my eye through.

Swarovski and Zeiss are the tops. I have the gold ring Leupold and consider it adequate.

Leupold Sequoia or Wind River for the 300-500 range.

You gotta assume that a decent rifle range spotter is not going to cut it in the field as it never moves from the bench and now you got it in the brush.

Consider the Nikon ED82, field use. @ just under 1K you'll like the optics and it's rugged. The Diascope 85PL by Carl Zeiss is out of my league at 3K!

I have looked through the Sequoia 15X45X6 and it's impressive but I'll stick with my Nikon...test drive one.
