Sorry, couldn't resist - just pictured a pig caller trying to convince his pigs to come to dinner. But, I guess, if you baited them and called "soo-ey" each time you dropped a load of slop then perhaps you'll condition them.
I was wondering the same thing. The first animal I had ever shot and killed was a 300lb. wild pig. She was definitely a mature sow. She was traveling by herself early one morning when she happened to make a fatal wrong turn. She turned down my shooting lane. Here in Missouri wild hogs are "shoot on sight". So I waited till she got within 10 yards and that was that. Sledneck7, I did not have anytime to call to her. She had something on her mind and my tree just happened to be in the way of whatever that was. To answer your question I have heard of some guys using the Buck Roar to call to pigs. You never know what might work.
sour the ground with sour corn, or put supper leftovers along with thrown out food. put in 5gal bucket for several days sitting out to spoil.pour in a spot where you want hogs to come and they will come.
Believe it or not, "Rabbit in Distress" is the only one that I've seen work. Food is food. Be careful though "hogs" won't be the only things to come in.
Good luck and good hunting.
