Chevy 4x4 supercab deisel with a 8 ft camper on the back. Great mpg, a seat for Glock, a platform that keeps my old bones off the ground for months at a time while driving 3000+ miles each way and spending months at a time fishing in Ak and surveying eagles and osprey and ducks and geese, and moose and deer and bear. I also can have a lot of gear with me.
Take off camper, put on ladder rack, load canoe room for dekes and dog and other gear. Long live Detroit!
With the exception of my Ford dump truck(you can't hunt with this one) all of my trucks have been Chevrolet. I've never had a single bad truck. Dependable, easy to work on and made by an American company. Now that the government has a big stake in Chevrolet I may have to turn my attention elsewhere. I'm not into public money and ownership of for profit private enterprise.
I drive a Ford F150 Supercrew. 4x4, tows my boat and quads great, big enough bed for gear n' deer. libertyfirst; Ford didn't take any government money, give em' a try.
I've had Ford's, Chevy's, Toyota's, Drove Drodges, I'm said to say the these days nothing is American anymore. I love the older truck's made of metal, Ford, Chevy, Dodge they all have good points and bad points. I currently own a Toyota, I am said to say that it's the best truck I have owned so far. 175,000 miles on it and not any trouble to speak of. Can't say that for any other truck I've owned. Dodges have no resale value and have a lot of trouble with the drive train. Fords have a smooth ride but lack load capacity and parts are expensive. Chevy's parts are cheaper but be prepared to buy allot of them. But most all cars and trucks are foren made anymore. Even Harley Davidson have parts maid outside US. Really sad. Almost makes a grown man shed a tear.

I prefer detroit steel. Chevy first choice, ford would be second.
What about GMC(Chevy with cheaper parts) Ol'Blue has done me well for 10+ yrs. I did have a toyota before this one though.
I would go with the old Willys jeep or international scout.
I GOING WITH CHEY
spell check
80s GMC or Chevy cheap to build up and easy to work on yourself
1998 Chevy Z-71 shortbox and '82 Ford Bronco.
