do i need to buy a muzzleloader scope for a muzzleloader or will a typical rifle scope work?

Why a scope on a muzzleloader, you can see farther than it can shoot. But, if you must, a 1x4.5 will be all you need.

I put a 3X9X40 Nikon Prostaff on mine. Maybe more scope than I need but I like to see what I'm shooting at.

I have used a rifle scope on my 50 caliber CVA Wolf muzzleloader for several years and have not had any problems.

a low power rifle scope will work but to optimize your loader get one specific to muzzleloaders because most will have some sort of drop comp reticle. Dont put a high power scope on because you will have more power than what you can use plus see further than you can ethically shoot.
