Q:
i recently purchased a scent lok suit in Realtree ap. I was hunting in a spot i hunted last year and had a lot of close encounters with deer. This year with this suit the deer seem to pin me right down as soon as they are in sight and they are not down wind. What i am asking is are the recent ads for UV eliminator valid or does the pattern just need more of a brushed in stand?

A more concealed stand is always better. Camouflage helps you match the colors around you, but does not break up the human outline. A seated or standing person looks very different from the natural environment, no matter how well they blend in color-wise. I'd either conceal the stand more or go for a more 3-D suit, whether its one of the leaf-style suits or a ghillie suit. I'd recommend a ghillie suit. Here's a link to a pretty good one that's only $70.

All the above, after washing in sent free detergant, I put it in the dryer on super high hand burn the rest of the odors out
You may be over hunting the stand. If a deer picks you out then blows it's best to let the area rest for a week or so.
I'd suggest that you watch your movement in addition to the good de-scenting advice above. I have had big bucks walk right into me standing in an open field with blaze orange clothing as long I was standing still. Most likely, the deer spotted you in his/her territory because of a movement and now is very wary of that location. They do have a good memory for danger. Unless you have a variety of deer passing you on your trail, you may have to give it a big rest or consider moving your stand. Most likely, it is not the camo they are spooking from.
Camo is over rated and over priced in most cases, Put your Stand as high as you can,be still and descent what ever you wear tan, brown and green works well.
You should'nt need UV eliminator unless you've washed your scent lok suit in detergent with brightners? If you have a little body odor in the garment, all you need is to dry to reactivate.
Care of activated carbon garments is critical to hunting success. Any new garments and those worn for over 40 hours need to be reactivated in a household dryer. Immediately after any garment is removed from the dryer, it must be stored in a carbon lined bag, heavy plastic bag, or in an airtight plastic tub.
It is important the garments stay in the airtight container until in the field, and be returned to the container before getting into a vehicle. To wash obviously dirty garments use a gentle cycle and Scent-Lok’s Premium clothing wash.

uv is bs.. unless u store your scent lock in plastic bag, plan on buying one each year. the dryer will also work, but don't wash in anything.
