Looking for a insulated hunting boot for late fall early winter in northeast. Looking to spend 100.00 to 175.00. Any advice on brand, size, and is scent lock worth looking for?
I get Wolvarine usually, just because they are affordable and sturdy/comfortable. I usually get one size too big if I am not going to do much walking. I do this so that they will fit with my wool socks on:)
Danner boots. Don't purchase by mail; wear a medium and thick pair of socks and try them on time you find the fit you want, break 'em in before the season begins and keep them for a generation or so.
For the price it is very hard to beat tCabela's Guide Series boots. Not completely sold on Scentlock. If you are overly concerned with odor then look at insulated Mucks or Lacrosse Alpha Burleys.
i got a cheap as dirt pair of rubber boots from i think its was bass pro the pairs in the big ol baskets for 20 bucks they are water tight i wear them all hunting season for me its not about the boots its about the socks.you wanna get a good pair socks that wicks away moisture.
I have had a pair of Cabelas Whitetail Extreme boots with 1200 grams of Thinsulate. They have and still are fine boots. They don't weigh a ton which means a lot when you do a lot of walking. They are really comfortable too. My next pair of boots will be the same.
