Redfield Scopes. I know plenty of you have had experiences with the old ones. Anyone bought one since they came back? I'm probably going to buy a 2-7x for the top of a marlin 30-30 lever.
I need to replace the crappy old Simmons that came on my Marlin .35 Remington and was thinking about that 2-7 as well. How do you think they compare to a Nikon Pro-Staff?
If I would going to buy a Redfield Scope, I would make sure they are under the Leupold Company. Prior Redfield Scopes not under Leupold, warranty is null and void. You will have a possible discount to trade that scope in for a new one.
I woudl agree with Clay, Before I would spend the money on it, I would let a few of them get field tested first. I had one of the old ones and it was not one of my favorites.
The new ones are made by Leupold at the plant in Beaverton OR. The scopes have the standard Leupold Lifetime warranty and are basically a plain jane version of the VX-I. I would take one over the foreign made Nikon Prostaff in a minute...
ive got 2 nikon prostaff's and i wouldnt buy anything else. They have a lifetime warrenty and they are very reasonably priced. The ones ive got are 3*9*40 and i have them on a .223 and a .17HMR. they pick up light very well and are nitrogen filled. Ive got an old redfield on my 30-06 and it is good but dont compare to the clarity of the nikons.

I checked them out at a trade show recently. I would say you could do far worse.

Would I buy a Redfield now it's owned by Leupold?
YOU BET! If I like it.

That's all I need to know. A Marlin wearing a Redfield just seems right, doesn't it?
Yes Double naught, a quality Redfield scope and all would seem right in the woods!
Made in USA? Leupold guarantee? I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I needed a scope. Wish they would re-introduce the Widefield.
Agreed with answer above and get Redfield Scope if you want it made from USA!!!
